Q: How should I insert the Home Trainer into my vagina?

A: It is described in the picture on the first page of the Instruction Guide for the Home Trainer Set. The instruction guide can be downloaded here.

Q: Should I train in supine or in standing position?

A: The FemiScan pelvic floor muscle exercises are carried out in standing position by using pants, which support the device to stay put. If the strength of contraction of the pelvic floor muscles are particularly weak, the exercises would be done while supine.

Q: What are the typical mistakes in pelvic floor muscles training?

A: Common mistake is to tense the buttock and thigh muscles in place of the pelvic floor muscles. The patient may also hold his breath or inspire strongly while contracting the pelvic floor muscles, which should be discouraged.

Q: Is it possible to use the device during pregnancy ?

A: It is better to discuss with your doctor whether there is any risk

Q: What is the suitable frequency to do FemiScan training per week?

A: Normally it is recommended to have training 1-2 times day and 5 times week. In the beginning training must be started peacefully for avoiding over training.

Q: When can I expect any effects and results of my training with FemiScan Home Trainer?

A: FemiScan treatment typically takes 1-3 months. When used regularly it begins to have an effect after a few weeks. Only regular treatment guarantees a good result.

Q: Can any lubricants be used with the Home Trainer?

A: You can use water-soluble lubricants with the Home Trainer. Never use liposoluble lubricants.

Q: Do I need to switch off the Home Trainer in the end of training session?

A: The device is switched of automatically at the end of the training program. Please do not press the button while the device is switching off by itself.

Q: The Home Trainer is not starting. What should I do?

A1: Check that the volume is adjusted correctly in the headphone volume control wheel.

A2: Check that the battery is not empty. Try to start with a new battery.

A3: Check that the connector of the headphones is well connected to the device.

A4: Check that the pins inside the headphone connector are not crooked or damaged.

Q: How can I switch off the device, if I need to interrupt the training suddenly for some reason?

A: You only need to disconnect the cable of the headphones from the device.

Q: When I am doing my daily training and someone interrupts me and I stop the training. Is there any results saved into the memory

A: The results, which are made before interruption will be saved to the memory of the Home Trainer.

Q: How can I adjust the volume of the device?

A: You can adjust the volume by using the headphone volume control wheel.

Q: How long does the battery last?

A: The operating time with fresh battery is about 20 hours in continuous use. Home Trainer informs you with a message when it is time to change the battery.

Q: Is it possible to use rechargeable battery with the Home Trainer?

A: The rechargeable batteries can be used with the Home Trainer, but please note that the life time of the rechargeable batteries is normally shorter than alkaline batteries.

Q: When do I need to remove the battery from the Home Trainer?

A: Remove the battery, if the device is not used on a regular basis or if you are going to rinse the device in water.

Q: How should I clean the device after use?

A: In personal use it is usually sufficient to wipe the unit with a moistened cloth or paper towel, but if you rinse the device in warm water please make sure that battery case is close tightly before rinsing.

Q: Do I need to remove the Cover from the Home Trainer after each training?

A: After each training session the Cover should be removed from the device and the outer surface of the Cover shall be rinsed in warm water, and if needed washed with a dilute soap solution. After rinsing wipe dry with a paper towel.

Q: When should I replace the Cover with a new one?

A: To ensure ultimate proper performance and hygiene the Cover is recommended to be replaced by a new one after 30 training sessions. The Cover is intended only for ”SINGLE PATIENT USE”.

Q: Do I need to disconnect the headphones from the device after each training session?`

A: You need to disconnect the headphones only if the device is not used in many days.

Q: Can any other electronic equipment disturb the measurement?

A: During the training session avoid to use of the following devices in close contact with Home Trainer: Cellular phones, cordless phones, radio controlled toys, amateurs equipment, etc., which can interfere the measurement.

Q: Can the Home Trainer be used with patients, who have cardiac pacemaker?

A: Do not use Home Trainer, if a patient has an active implanted medical device (e.g. cardiac pacemaker).

Q: I have nickel allergy. Can I still use FemiScan?

A: The metal contacts on the surface of FemiScan cover are made from stainless steel (AISI 304) designed for medical devices. Either way, stainless steel always includes small amounts of nickel but rarely is the amount of nickel detached harmful. Bio-compatibility of FemiScan devices has also been ensured by substance tests. 

However, if you are suffering from extremely difficult nickel allergy it is recommended to discuss about the issue with your doctor before using FemiScan devices.
